• To install on Ubuntu and derivatives
  1. Download the package (double-click on above link)
  
  2. Install the package
  

      sudo apt-get install -f ~/Downloads/ScriptureViewer-2.10-1_amd64.deb
  OR  sudo apt-get install -f ~/Downloads/ScriptureViewer-2.10-1_amd64\(#\).deb

  Note: If you've downloaded multiple times, the additional copies come with a number in parenthesis. Use the latest number in place of the # in the second format.
  Note: If presented, you may safely ignore the "N: Download is performed unsandboxed as root..." message.
  
  3. Create a desktop shortcut
  

  echo '[Desktop Entry]
  Name=ScriptureViewer
  Exec=/usr/bin/ScriptureViewer
  Type=Application
  Icon=/opt/forthright/scriptureviewerfmx/Icon256.png
  ' > ~/Desktop/ScriptureViewer.desktop

  4. Make the shortcut executable
  

  chmod +x ~/Desktop/ScriptureViewer.desktop

• To uninstall this release version
  

  sudo apt-get -y remove scriptureviewer

  Note: If presented, you may safely ignore the "/opt not empty, not deleted" message. Other messages may indicate some residual clean-up might be in order.
